ABOUT
EXPERIENCE

Emily enjoys working with children, young people, and adults and has a particular interest in the assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders. She is recognised for her ability to identify and overcome treatment barriers and work effectively with complex and severe presentations.
Emily is warm and responsive, yet focused in her approach, and committed to finding creative opportunities to connect with her younger clients. She values the autonomy of the individuals that she works with, and is respectful of their own insights. She works flexibly, but at all times within evidence-based frameworks.

Emily has been in private practice for over 10 years. She has also worked in university clinics, inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, and school settings. Her experience includes eight years at Macquarie University's Centre for Emotional Health (CEH), an integrated research and treatment clinic. Emily is an accredited Cool Kids provider and continues to be an Associate Member of CEH.

Throughout her career Emily has always had regular involvement in the research, development and delivery of evidence-based treatment programs for people with emotional disorders. She has also previously held the position of course convenor and lecturer for a core unit on Macquarie University’s Clinical Psychology Masters Program.

Emily has worked within the school system as a senior lead psychologist, and her private practice work is enhanced by insights from this role. Emily collaborates effectively with the people and systems that her clients rely on for nurturing and advocacy, and is strong in her ability to tailor pragmatic interventions that best support positive outcomes.

What to expect
Our Director speaks with each new client (or client-parent/guardian) to form a brief understanding of your concerns and goals, to make sure our service is appropriate to your needs.

After booking your first appointment, you will be emailed a secure link to complete an intake form. By updating your details before your first visit, you can make the most of your appointment time. The intake form includes a copy of our comprehensive Information and Consent Form.

For clients 13 years and younger, the initial appointment is most typically parent(s)/guardian(s)-only. This structure allows parents/guardians to express their concerns freely and for the psychologist to collect necessary background information.
